What makes you passionate about working in childcare?
I started studying in 2001 and completed my Diploma in Community Services (Children’s Services) in 2002 and received a high achievement award for innovation in the workplace. I then continued to work in the field and then gain my Bachelor Teaching (birth-5years) in 2011. In 2012, I attended the United Voice "Big Steps" rally in Sydney for higher pay wages for Early Childhood Educators and had an article written in the Fairfield City Champion and Liverpool Advance, so we can be recognised as professionals.

In 2013, I was also a shortlist finalist as “Educator of the Year” for the current practices and trends I implemented in my service. For this high achievement I was placed on the front cover of two local newspapers (the Parramatta Advertiser and Fairfield City Champion).

I am always researching new and innovative quality practices to implement in a workplace. I have recently completed my Certificate IV in Training & Assessment. This opportunity will open many doors and with the knowledge and skills I have attained over the last year and my professional career. I can inspire others with my passion! And inspire others that you can make a change!

I have now taken a path down coaching, mentoring, supporting new Educators in the Early Childhood Education industry. I love seeing how educators flourish to build their skills in the Industry. I love that I help facilitate that learning and development through my knowledge and experience! I love inspiring as this has always been a passion of mine.

What is the funniest or most memorable moment you can share from working in childcare? The most memorable moment in child care is when our team was a part of a corporate sleepout in our local area, we were able to raise the most fund for our local hospital, which then gained free tickets to our local colour run. Our team believe in being a part of the community and coming together.
